Designed to weather the elements in storm-prone Pensacola, FL, a domed waterfront home definitely stands out—or around, at least.

The house was built in 2007 by owners who wanted a unique and, most importantly, hurricane-proof structure.

“They weren’t always in Pensacola,” explains listing agent Bill Dyess, with Avast Realty. “They wanted to build something that they could leave and not have to worry about during hurricane season.”

So they built a 3,000-square-foot dwelling with 30-foot ceilings and an open-dome structure, on more than a half-acre. The wildly unique abode is now listed for $1.3 million.

A gorgeous and rare midcentury modern home in Washington, DC, is now available for $2,195,000.

Most residences in the nation’s capital are row homes, stately manors, or condos, so it’s a treat to see an atomic-age gem in DC.

Built in 1961 and known as the A. F. Maxwell House, the 3,344-square-foot, four-bedroom dwelling features glass facades and spacious cantilevered terraces. It was designed by George T. Ward and modified in 1987 by Joan Fabry of Fabry Associates Architects.

“The home was expanded on rather seamlessly,” says listing agent Christopher Ritzert, of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty. “It is a steel beam construction. The beams were extended to the roofline, and the decks appear to be floating.”

The Real Brokerage said serial real estate entrepreneur Sharran Srivatsaa would help guide the company as it continues expanding to new markets.

Calling all motorheads: Retired race car driver Richard Berry‘s megamansion in Evergreen, CO, comes with its own jaw-dropping auto hangar.

Custom-built in 2004, the 50,275-square-foot mountain spread sits on 75 acres just west of Denver.

Listed for $24,799,000, the property known as Thunder Ridge is attracting a fair amount of attention. It was recently ranked as one of the most popular homes in the country.

But Thunder Ridge didn’t exactly rev the market’s engines in 2019, when it was listed for $19,999,000. Its current list price is an increase of $4.8 million, which listing agent Sean Endsley, of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty, attributes to Denver’s dynamic real estate scene.

On “Home Town,” Erin and Ben Napier have renovated some rough homes, but their latest fixer-upper could be the hardest one yet.

In the Season 7 episode “The Family Tree,” Erin and Ben team up with Brandon, a Laurel, MS, native who is returning home to put down roots. He wants a tidy, attractive house and is willing to spend up to $200,000 to get it.

However, the two-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom place he picks is in terrible shape. The 1940 build has been vacant for a long time, and Ben points out that they need to tidy up before they can even demolish the kitchen.

“Today is a first. We are vacuuming before demo,” Ben says as the team cleans animal droppings. But things get worse when the HGTV stars find termite damage and rotten floor joists. They tell Brandon that the repairs will be so pricey that they should consider tearing the whole place down and starting anew.

After hitting the market in late November for $1.65 million, the Astoria, Oregon, home was purchased for an undisclosed price by a superfan who aims to remain anonymous until the sale is finalized.
